We are seeking applicants who hold a PhD in an area related to environmental history. We invite applications from historians working on environmental history between 1500CE and the present. We define environmental history widely to encompass the various relationships between humans and non-human phenomena. It could include climate history, histories of resource use and energy, histories of animal-human relations, chemical histories, oceanic histories, rural and urban histories, and histories of science and medicine. We welcome applicants working on environmental history in any geographical region or regions, and/or from comparative, transnational or global perspectives.
